Honda Air Conditioning Maintenance: Ensuring Year-Round Comfort

Our summers in Bristol, TN, are warm and humid and, there are days you'll crave the cold, billowy air from your AC. If your AC isn't working as well as it should, your Honda dealer can fix the problem for you. These are a few signs you need to visit us for some AC maintenance. more Signs You Need AC Maintenance at Your Honda Dealer Noisy AC An AC doesn't make any noise as it converts warm outside air into refreshingly cold air and blows it into your cabin. Weird noises from the AC, like rusting, rattling, clunking, or scratching, are all signs that something is wrong. We advise contacting us so our Honda-trained technicians can investigate and fix the problem. Rustling or scratching noises could be caused by leaves, dirt, or other objects brought in with the air and deposited in the ducts. Harsher sounds like rattling or clunking could mean worn or damaged components, like broken bearings or a loose compressor clutch. We'll check your AC system and repair or replace any worn components if necessary. Refrigerant Leak Refrigerant gas is used to chill the air before it is blown into your cabin. This gas changes to liquid and then back to gas during the chilling process as it removes water from the air and cools it down. In time, worn seals or damage to the AC system by stones or other hard objects thrown up from the surface can cause a leak. You'll feel the air become warmer as your AC loses refrigerant, and the compressor will make strange noises as it struggles to work without refrigerant. We release a harmless UV dye into the AC and then use a UV viewer to trace refrigerant through the system to locate the leak site. Once we discover the leak, we'll seal it and refill your AC with refrigerant. Broken Fans Once warm outside air has been chilled, it's blown into your cabin by the fans. The fans are delicate, and their blades can become cracked or damaged by stones or other objects kicked up from the road surface. Damaged fans might spin at reduced speed or may fail to work. If you're not receiving air through the air vents, the fans could be the source of the problem. We'll examine your fans and replace them if necessary. If you have an AC problem, contact us right away at Bristol Honda in Bristol, TN. Image via

Honda Engine Care: Essential Tips for Maintaining Performance

It's no secret that properly maintaining your Honda will help it last longer. Unfortunately, there's no shortage of issues to look out for and parts to maintain, which means you may not even know when it's time (or past time) to visit your Honda dealer for service. Luckily, we've prepared a list of essential Honda engine maintenance tips to make keeping up with your ride as easy as possible. more 1. Get Regular Oil Changes This one should come as no surprise since getting your oil changed is likely the most commonly recognized car maintenance. And that's for a reason! Oil is incredibly vital to the health of your engine, keeping components lubricated to reduce friction and lower strain on the system as a whole. It's good practice to change your oil every 5,000 to 10,000 miles based on your Honda's maintenance schedule (and make sure to get the filter replaced too). 2. Check Fluid Levels Regularly Aside from engine oil, there are other fluids such as transmission, brake, and radiator fluid that should all be checked regularly. This also includes wiper fluid, of course. A lack of transmission fluid can cause performance issues, low brake fluid can hamper your ability to stop, and low coolant could overheat your engine. Check all fluids regularly to avoid these potential issues. 3. Drive Gently and Defensively Your Honda can also benefit greatly from gentle driving habits. Driving defensively and carefully serves to maintain your Honda's health over time, including aspects such as gas mileage, tire longevity, and even the overall condition of your engine and its components. 4. Heed Your Check Engine Light Everyone knows the dreaded check engine light, and the best way to answer the questions that come up when you see it is to schedule a service appointment as soon as the light comes on. Newer model Hondas will display a code that lets you know what service is due to allay potential safety concerns, but even then, it's a good idea to get it taken care of right away. Speedy service regardless of the issue will ensure your vehicle stays on the road that much longer. Just went out to the driveway to see if that check engine light is still on? Don't worry — we're here to get you taken care of. Contact us at Bristol Honda in Bristol, TN to schedule your next service today! Image via

4 Reasons to Buy a Certified Pre-Owned Honda

Are you exploring the world of used cars, searching for a reliable ride? A certified pre-owned Honda might be just what you're looking for. These vehicles offer the perfect blend of Honda's renowned reliability and affordability. Let's discuss the reasons you should buy a CPO Honda. more 1. Excellent Physical and Mechanical Condition When you opt for a Certified Pre-Owned Honda, you're getting a vehicle that's practically as good as new. Only vehicles in the best condition qualify for Honda's CPO programs. Each car must be less than six years old and have fewer than 80,000 miles on the odometer. But that's just the beginning. Every Certified Pre-Owned Honda undergoes a rigorous 182-point inspection to reveal faults that don't meet Honda's factory standards. This includes everything from mechanical components to cosmetic details. The vehicles are then reconditioned, serviced, and tested to ensure they run like new. 2. Extended Warranty Protection When buying a used vehicle, quality is usually a major concern. The car may experience mechanical issues shortly after purchase, forcing you to spend more money on repairs. Honda backs up its CPO vehicles with an extended warranty. You will get a powertrain warranty of up to 7 years or 100,000 miles, covering essential components like the engine and transmission. Honda also provides a 12-month/12,000-mile limited warranty, which takes care of other important systems and parts. All these warranties are fully transferable. If you decide to sell your Certified Pre-Owned Honda down the road, the remaining coverage becomes a valuable selling point. 3. Convenience and Peace of Mind Shopping for a conventional used car can be stressful, especially when doing it privately. You have to get an independent mechanic and conduct a pre-purchase inspection to avoid buying a lemon. Investing in a Certified Pre-Owned Honda takes the worry out of the equation. There's no need to inspect the vehicle because Honda's certification process has taken care of that for you. You will get a complimentary CARFAX vehicle history report, which provides a clear picture of your car's past. You can even opt for one-owner models that have been gently used. This level of transparency simplifies the purchase process and provides peace of mind. 4. Complimentary Services Besides providing an extended warranty, Honda also offers a suite of additional benefits for Certified Pre-Owned models. One standout feature is roadside assistance, which comes in handy when you get a flat tire, run out of gas, or need to jump-start your vehicle. Other benefits include complimentary oil changes, a 90-day SiriusXM subscription, trip interruption reimbursement, and concierge services. When it comes to buying a used Honda, CPO models are the way to go. Visit Bristol Honda in Bristol, TN to explore our Certified Pre-Owned inventory. Image via

Discover the 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid: Innovation and Comfort

The Honda CR-V is renowned for its stylish exterior, premium interior, smooth drive, and innovative features. It's one of the top-selling compact SUVs in the world, and half of its trims are hybrids. Buy a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid, and you'll enjoy the fuel efficiency and urban serenity that its fourth-generation hybrid powertrain affords. Could this be the car you've longed for? more New in 2024 Although there was no big redesign in 2024, a new "Sport-L" hybrid trim was added to the existing two. This bridges the divide between Sport and Sport Touring trims and upgrades several of the Sport's features. Specifically, it has leather-trimmed seats, a 9" touchscreen versus the Sport's 7" screen, auto up-and-down on all windows, and a 4-way power adjustment on the passenger's seat. CR-V Chassis and Body Contributing to the CR-V's smooth ride quality is its unibody chassis, which improves rigidity and responsiveness over a body-on-frame chassis and helps Honda minimize noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). An integral part of the chassis is ACE architecture (Advanced Compatibility Engineering). This is designed to absorb energy in the event of a frontal crash and divert it away from passengers. Hybrid Performance In 2023, Honda redesigned the CR-V's hybrid powertrain with adjacent electric motors. This unlocked benefits such as quicker acceleration and increased torque of up to 247 lb-ft. A new low-speed lockup clutch helped raise the towing capacity to 1000 lbs. The twin motors accompany a fuel-efficient 2.0L Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine. FWD CR-V Hybrid models can achieve up to 43 mpg during city driving. Space and Comfort As well as introducing a premium interior with plush seating, Honda increased the CR-V's wheelbase and width in 2023, thus creating more cabin space. At the same time, a 24% reduction in battery size expanded hybrid cargo space to 39.3 cu ft behind the rear seats, or 76.5 cu ft with the seats down, henceforth matching gasoline models. The CR-V offers 41.3" and 41" of legroom for front and rear passengers. Honda Sensing Technology The CR-V Hybrid is jam-packed with Honda Sensing technologies as standard. To name but a few: Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Information System, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow. It's something of a Honda trait to distribute all this cleverness so evenly. Contact Bristol Honda in Bristol, TN, and find out why the CR-V Hybrid is the car for you. Image via

Eco-Friendly Honda: Tips for Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Care

Hybrid and electric cars offer an excellent balance between convenience, cost-effectiveness, and power. Despite the slightly more complicated nature of their engine, hybrid cars are also easy to maintain. Below are some easy-to-implement tips for Honda hybrid maintenance, from a certified Honda dealer, to keep your hybrid or electric vehicle in peak condition. more Get to Know Your Honda Service Schedule Each Honda hybrid or electric vehicle comes with its own specific service schedule, located in the owner's manual. This schedule sets out Honda's suggestions for how often you should book your vehicle for service and inspection by factory-certified technicians. Sticking to the recommended service schedule helps keep your electric or hybrid vehicle in peak condition and prevents problems that could turn into costly repairs if not caught early. Practice Good Temperature Control to Extend Your Battery Life Heat kills batteries! Even a modest increase in temperature can reduce the efficiency and lifespan of your vehicle's battery. The good news is that there are plenty of ways to help keep your battery cool, including: Make sure to top up your vehicle's fluids, such as inverter coolant and brake fluid, on a regular basis Try not to park your vehicle in direct sunlight Perform regular maintenance of your battery's cooling and filtration system Wash debris off the body and underside of your vehicle before it gets into your battery's filtration system Perform a Regular Oil Check and Change Oil is still a vital engine lubricant in hybrid and electric cars. Since oil degrades over time, regular oil checks should be a part of your maintenance schedule. Honda suggests that you change your oil every six months or 7,000 miles and that you perform a manual oil check twice a month. If you notice that your oil is full of particulates, has changed color, or is draining more rapidly than usual, it's a good idea to book an oil change as soon as possible. Keep Your Battery Topped Up Leaving your vehicle's battery partially or fully discharged can reduce its lifespan. If you have an electric vehicle, you can prevent this with a regular charging schedule. If you have a hybrid, the best way to charge your battery is to go for a brisk drive, letting your internal combustion engine and regenerative braking top up your battery. If you'd like to experience the power, comfort, and versatility of a Honda hybrid or electric vehicle, then contact Bristol Honda in Bristol, TN, today!
